Jonathan Canlas has shot film since 1999 and started theFINDlab in 2011. He doesn’t own a digital camera.
He’s an open book on just about anything: exposure, pushing, flash and the business side of photography. You’ll get full access to Jonathan, so you won’t leave Film School Road Trip with questions.
Two team members from theFINDlab join every trip, too.
Nope. You can be a full-on hobbyist or a veteran photographer. We’re all equals, and egos get checked at the door. Some folks come with this as their first time photographing film. All are welcome.
We suggest the camera you’re most comfortable with, plus a normal and a wide-angle lens. It’s wise to bring a backup camera in case something goes awry. How much film is up to you and your pace, but we always suggest packing more than you think you need. It isn’t easy, and it will cost you dearly, to stock up once you’re at your location. Kodak provides each attendee with two rolls (35mm or 120, your choice) of Ultramax, Gold or Tri-X.

Send it back with us to theFINDlab. Yes, we’ll mule your film home to the lab, and you’ll get 20% off processing and scanning.

Yes. Extra nights are $125 a night at most destinations. Choose yours to see the dates.
The $750 retainer holds your seat. The $2,000 balance is due before the trip, or you can pay it in four monthly payments of $500, the last one due a month before the trip.
All sales final. If you can’t go, your payment applies to a future Film School Road Trip.
Open seats and new trips go to the list first.
